Οι Ελληνοαυστραλοί πρωτοπόροι του Surf, The Atlantics, για πρωτη φορά στην Ελλάδα. Την Πέμπτη 11 Ιουλίου στη σκηνή του Bat City (Λεωφ. Αλεξάνδρας 11) και στα πλαίσια του Texas summer festival. Mαζί τους οι Dirty Fuse και special guests από Θεσσαλονίκη οι Meanwhile in Mexico, στα decks για προθέρμανση και after party οι Highway Society Athens rockabilly club. Είσοδος 8 Ευρώ. Surfs up !!!

The Atlantics

Οι Atlantics είναι ένα surf rock συγκρότημα από την Αυστραλία. Σχηματίστικαν το 1961 με αρχικά μέλη τον drummer Peter Hood, τον μπασίστα Bosco Bosanac και τους κιθαρίστες Theo Penglis και Jim Skiathitis.
To εμπνευσμένο "Bombora", ένα κλασσικό surf instrumental κομμάτι του συγκροτήματος, εκτοξεύτηκε στην πρώτη θέση των charts για 8 εβδομάδες το 1963 και σε ανάλογες θέσεις σε όλο τον κόσμο. Το επόμενό τους single, "The Crusher", είχε επίσης μεγάλη επιτυχία.
Οι Atlantics ηχογράφησαν επτά ακόμα σινγκλ και τέσσερα άλμπουμ, τα οποία ανήκουν στα κλασσικά του είδους. Επίσης ηχογράφησαν μια σειρά από σινγκλ με φωνητικά και αυτά τα τραγούδια πλέον θεωρούνται εξαιρετικά παραδείγματα garage rock στην προ-punk εποχή.
Οι εξαιρετικές τους εμφανίσεις σε περιοδείες στην Αυστραλία, όπως η σειρά συναυλιών "Long Way To The Top" ή οι εμφανίσεις τους μαζί με τους Beach Boys και τον Chris Isaac, προκάλεσαν παραλήρημα κριτικών για την μουσική τους και το ταλέντο τους που με τη σειρά τους συνέβαλλαν στην απόκτηση του τίτλου του "Καλύτερου instrumental συγκροτήματος της Αυστραλίας όλων των εποχών".
Μετά από σιγή πολλών χρόνων, οι Atlantics σχηματίστηκαν ξανά, με τους Jim Skiathitis, Peter Hood και Bosco Bosanac από τα ιδρυτικά μέλη και τον Martin Cilia σαν τον νέο τους κιθαρίστα.
Μετά από την επανασύνδεση, οι Atlantics κυκλοφόρησαν τέσσερα εξαιρετικά νέα CD's. "Flight Of The Surf Guitar", 'Atlantics - The Next Generation", "Point Zero" και "Atlantics The Best Of". Το 2000, το "Bombora" είχε την μέγιστη τιμή να ακουστεί στην τελετή λήξης των Ολυμπιακών Αγώνων του Σίδνει.

Dirty Fuse

Οι Dirty Fuse σχηματίστηκαν το 2008 από τον κιθαρίστα Duda Victor και τον ντράμερ Χρήστο Κόγιο με σκοπό να εξερευνήσουν τον μανιασμένο κόσμο του surf rock. Με επιρροές από Dick Dale, Ventures, Atlantics, Ramones και Televison, η μουσική τους είναι βασισμένη στην old school surf μουσική των 60's, αποδιδόμενη με την ενέργεια του garage και του punk rock. Με δικές τους κυρίως συνθέσεις ξεκινούν την περιπλάνηση τους στα live bars της Αθήνας σαν τρίο (κιθάρα, μπάσο και τύμπανα). Μετά από κάποιες αλλαγές στη σύνθεση τους στα μέσα του 2009 ηχογραφούν τα πρώτα τους κομμάτια τα οποία θα κυκλοφορήσουν ένα χρόνο αργότερα στο 7" βινύλιο Lost Riders. Μέσα στο 2010 προστίθενται στη μπάντα οι Μάνος Κισαμιτάκης (σαξόφωνο), Γιάννης Δράκος (μπάσο) και Κώστας Μπακούλας (κιθάρα) και με αυτή τη σύνθεση συνεχίζουν μέχρι σήμερα. Το 2012 κυκλοφορούν το ομώνυμο full-length CD Dirty Fuse, με το κομμάτι Sunset Beach (απόδοση του Ακρογιαλιές, δειλινά του Β. Τσιτσάνη) να βρίσκει μεγάλη αποδοχή από το ραδιόφωνο και τους djs. Το 2013 συνεχίζουν κυκλοφορώντας το 10" βινύλιο Surfbetika! με αποδόσεις εφτά παλιών ρεμπέτικων τραγουδιών. Χαρακτηριστικό των Dirty Fuse σε όλη τη διάρκεια της πορεία τους είναι η συνεχής και δυναμική παρουσία τους σε live stages.

Σημαντικές στιγμές στην πορεία των Dirty Fuse είναι η συμμετοχή τους στο Surfer Joe Summer Festival στην Ιταλία (2012), η διοργάνωση του Surf Rock Mayhem, του πρώτου all-surf-music live event στο Bios (2013), η εμφάνιση τους δίπλα στους Invisible Surfers στο Αn Club (2012), και οι συμμετοχές τους στη συλλογή του Continental Magazine (USA, 2012), στο soundtrack του ντοκυμαντέρ «Welcome to the show (Η μουσική κληρονομιά του Παύλου Σιδηρόπουλου)» και στη συλλογή Unsigned United (2009).

Meanwhile in Mexico

Οι Meanwhile in Mexico σχηματίστηκαν το 2008 από τον Ευγένιο Τριβιζά. Το πρώτο Line up της μπάντας αποτελούσαν οι Σταύρος Ξαρχάκος, Εμμανουήλ Μπενάκης και Παναγιώτης Φασούλας. Από την αρχή του( πιο συγκεκριμένα λίγο πριν την πρώτη πρόβα) το σχήμα διασκεύασε surf rock κομμάτια περασμένων δεκαετιών, με στόχο να κυνηγήσει θύλαια, γόνους γρα?ν της εν λόγω εποχής που κατά πάσα πιθανότητα θα είχαν προίκα κάποιο νεοκλασσικό. Η εμμονή του Π. Φ. για σεμεδάκια, αναζοπύρωνε συνεχώς την θέληση για κυνήγι κορασίδων. Μετά από κάποια Live, ο Ε. Μπ. επηρεασμένος από γνωστό συγγραφέα, αποφάσισε να πάρει τα καράβια και να βυθίσει το συγκρότημα σε έναν ωκεανό αναζήτησης χαμηλών συχνοτήτων. Μετά από αρκετές αλλαγές μελών στο συγκρότημα, καθώς και αρκετές εμφανίσεις σε πρωτεύουσα, συμπρωτεύουσα και επαρχία, άρχισαν οι προετοιμασίες για την πρώτη δισκογραφική δουλειά, υπό την επίβλεψη του Λεβιάθαν Καμπάκογλου ( σ.σ.: ή Καμπακόγλου, πάντα υπέγραφε με κεφαλαία) . Λίγο πριν την έναρξη των διαδικασιών, ο Π.Φ. αποφάσισε να εγκαταλείψει την μπάντα για να πάει να παίξει μπάσκετ. Έκτοτε η μπάντα λειτουργεί υπό την επίβλεψη εξωγήινων που έχουν εγκατασταθεί σε σώματα μουσικών και παίζουν.

X : LOS ANGELES 1980

Los Angeles is the debut album of the American punk rock band X, released on April 26, 1980. Produced by ex-Doors keyboard player Ray Manzarek, it includes a cover of the 1967 Doors song "Soul Kitchen".

By the late '70s, punk rock and hardcore were infiltrating the Los Angeles music scene.

Such bands as Black Flag, the Germs, and, especially, X were the leaders of the pack, prompting an avalanche of copycat bands and eventually signing record contracts themselves.

X's debut, Los Angeles, is considered by many to be one of punk's all-time finest recordings .

X actually consisted of some truly gifted musicians, including rockabilly guitarist Billy Zoom, bassist John Doe, and frontwoman Exene Cervenka, who, with Doe, penned poetic lyrics and perfected sweet yet biting vocal harmonies.

It made it on at number 16 for the year in The Village Voice Pazz & Jop Critics Poll. In 2003, the album was ranked number 286 on the Rolling Stone's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time .

 Οι Pussy Riot είναι μια ρωσική φεμινιστική πανκ-ροκ μπάντα η οποία κάνει προκλητικές αυτοσχέδιες εμφανίσεις στη Μόσχα με θέματα τη θέση της γυναίκας στην Ρωσία. Στις εκλογές της Ρωσίας, το 2012, κινητοποιήθηκαν κατά της εκλογής του Βλαντιμίρ Πούτιν.


Pussy Riot is a Russian feminist punk-rock collective based in Moscow. Founded in August 2011,On February 21, 2012, five members of the group staged a performance on the soleas of Moscow's Cathedral of Christ the Savior.Their actions were stopped by church security officials.
By evening, they had turned it into a music video entitled "Punk Prayer - Mother of God, Chase Putin Away!".

On March 3, 2012, two of the group members, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, were arrested and charged with hooliganism.
A third member, Yekaterina Samutsevich, was arrested on March 16.

Two other members of the group, who escaped arrest after February's protest, reportedly left Russia fearing prosecution.

On October 10, following an appeal, Samutsevich was freed on probation, her sentence suspended. The sentences of the other two women were upheld. In late October 2012, Alyokhina and Tolokonnikova were separated and sent to prison.

ELF : ELF 1972

Ronald James Padavona (July 10, 1942 – May 16, 2010), better known as Ronnie James Dio, was an American rock and heavy metal vocalist and songwriter. He performed with, among others, Elf, Rainbow, Black Sabbath, Heaven & Hell, and his own band Dio.


Dio's musical career began in 1957 when several Cortland, New York musicians formed the band The Vegas Kings. This band's lineup had Padavona on the bass guitar, along with singer Billy DeWolfe, guitarist Nick Pantas, drummer Tom Rogers, and saxophone player Jack Musci.

In late 1967 Ronnie Dio and the Prophets transformed into a new band called The Electric Elves and added a keyboard player. Following recovery from a deadly car accident in February 1968 (which killed guitarist Nick Pantas and put Dio and other band members in the hospital briefly), the group shortened its name to The Elves and used that name until mid 1972 when it released its first proper album under the name Elf.

he founded Elf in the early '70s that Dio, or Ronald Padavona as he was then called, took his first tentative steps toward hard rock. Still, with the honky tonk piano playing of Mickey Lee Soule dominating many of its songs, Elf's self-titled Epic Records debut (produced by Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover) hardly qualifies as a bona fide Hard Rock - Blues record.

Over the next few years, the group went on to become a regular opening act for Deep Purple. Elf recorded three albums until the members' involvement recording the first Rainbow album in early 1975 resulted in Elf disbanding.

Dio's vocals caught the ear of Deep Purple guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who was planning on leaving the band then, since he didn't approve of his bandmates' new direction. Blackmore invited Ronnie along with Gary Driscoll to record two songs in Tampa, Florida on December 12, 1974. Being satisfied with the results, Blackmore decided to recruit more of Elf's musicians and form his own band, primarily known as Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow.


Dio died of stomach cancer on May 16, 2010. One of the last songs he recorded was titled "Metal Will Never Die". Ronnie James Dio has sold over 47 million copies of albums with all of the bands he has worked in.

Peter Murphy : Cascade 1995

Along with the help of producer Pascal Gabriel and some good session players,
including extra "infinite guitar" from cult musician Michael Brook,
Murphy created the marvelous Cascade.

Another step further up in Murphy's continuing embrace of generally positive,
inspiring work,Cascade shows him once again not repeating himself,
aside perhaps from the sprightly,acoustic guitar-led "The Scarlet Thing in You.

" Otherwise, the music this time is generally lush and electronic,emphasizing Statham's atmospherics and melodies to their fullest.

"Subway" is a good example, with Statham's synth strings creating a striking air for both the band's performance and Murphy's own passionate vocals,which cheekily quote the old Petula Clark hit "Don't Sleep in the Subway." "Gliding Like a While," which immediately follows it, is just as vast and powerful, a strong guitar/electronics arrangement giving Murphy the opportunity to deliver an equally compelling lyric and chorus.

It's Murphy at his most commanding and passionate, and the band's brilliant performance doesn't let up a jot.
