Black Nite Crash: Studio Albums 2008 - 2019 + Colony Drive EP 2020

It’s no coincidence the band name was picked from the final and most explosive single by legendary

Brit-rock band Ride. Black Nite Crash continues in the same fuzz-drenched tradition of gorgeous melodies and big guitar sounds. The band’s atmospheric, dynamic sound has seen them compared to The Church, The Pixies & The Jesus & Mary Chain. Black Nite Crash formed in 2002 in their adopted hometown of Seattle.

The number of the bands weaned on the key alternative sounds of the eighties is sprawling like

mushrooms these days. Some come up with an interesting and truly pleasing sound along the way, others are just sounding like big fans of a certain artist or a number of them. Seattle’s Black Nite Crash seem to have quite an extensive and varied collection of eighties sounds, sprinkled with their extension in the nighties. Black Nite Crash is a band that pretty accurately describes itself as being “a little too post-punk to be psychedelic, a little too psychedelic to be post-punk.”

Like Ride, Black Nite Crash delight in shrouding their high-momentum guitar rock in clouds of

luminescent distortion, making garage punk that feels warm and fuzzy without losing its bite. Anchored by the triple guitar attack of Jim Biggs, Sharim Johnson, and Claire Tucker, the band has a way of transforming their nostalgic, dreamy songs into cascading barrages of faded out falsettos and careening guitar chords.

The band is actively playing venues around the Northwest and have just put the finishing touches on

their album “Signal to Noise”, featuring the brilliant lead single “Electric”. Previous album “Washed in the Sound with Black Nite Crash” arrived to end-of-year acclaim in 2022, as well as “Elaborate Destinations” EP in 2023!

Black Nite Crash is Jim Biggs (vocals, guitar), John Parker (bass), James Stone (guitar), Tony Zuniga

(drums) and Claire Tucker (guitar/vocals). Formed twenty years ago, Black Nite Crash has involved more than 30 members over the years, surrounding Jim Biggs, the last remaining original member. Yet somehow, the band has maintained a coherent sound and vision and this dreamlike musical land was born from a dream.

WRONG LYRICS

This project commenced recording at the end of 2016 as this current world devolution began in earnest. Lead single "Wrong" is a simple yet scathing indictment of the surveillance state and a government that, even then, did not speak for the people, and has only worsened in that regard over the ensuing years.

I watch your camera eye stare back at me
I don't know where you are, but I know what you see

And you're wrong
You're all wrong
And you're wrong
You're all wrong

I hear you justify your broken policy
I'm not sure what you want, but I sure know it hurts me

And you're wrong
You're all wrong
You're so wrong
You're all wrong

I don't know who you think you are
But I know what you're after

  1. A rariry !! There are almost no offers for this. Please copy all 4 cds except the EP ( making a cd here is a shame for only 3 tracks).
I listened to the array on bandcamp.
Yea, very nice guitar music. Sometimes it reminds me a lot of Steve Wynn an his various projects.
Which is mean positivly. Thanks for this great discovery and possible dubbing.

    1. I can't do anything now. In September I will go to an island for my vacations and you can give me your list of CDs at the end of October. When I'll return from my vacations I'll be very busy with my work. After October is okay for me. Cheers. Black Nite Crash are amazing but unknown.

  3. I haven't left for ages. 0 interest. Only when i'm forced to go to Germany like i did some time ago. Besides, i only need my money for more important things.
All over the world people are becoming more and more monotonus. They all think the same, talk the same, dress the same, consumes the same plus the most trite drunkenness of experience. Even the temperature almost equalize. ( it's terrible hot summer in Vienna, i've already had enough, only today cool on the weekend the temperatures are going up again to 36 degrees). Speaking of mass tourism which contributes significantly to this environmental destruction and climate change.
Humanity has no chance, they just don't know it. Destruction of nature and climate change continue curelessly. The astonishment about this is great, but the confidence that it will somehow work out is immortal.

    1. I'm always very glad to hear you my friend, yes I will go for vacations in September, because the Greek islands are more beautiful without tourists, the prices for food and hotels are cheaper and the sea is all for me. Cheers.
