Aphrodite's Child : End Of The World 1968

Aphrodite's Child was a Greek progressive rock band formed in 1967, by Vangelis Papathanassiou (keyboards), Demis Roussos (bass guitar and vocals), Loukas Sideras (drums and vocals), and Anargyros "Silver" Koulouris (guitar).
This Greek band of the late '60s and early '70s , Aphrodite's Child scored an European hit, "Rain and Tears."

The band formed in Greece in the mid-'60s, and the title track from the second album "It's Five O'Clock " was a hit throughout Europe.

Vangelis scored the soundrack of a soft - Porn movie "Sex Power " released under the name "L'APOCALYPSE DES ANIMAUX " 1971 .The following year Aphrodite's Child surfaced from their Paris studio , delivering the double set "666" wich explored the Bible's book of Revelation against a Prog-Rock backdrop .Essentially, 666 was Vangelis' concept, created with an outside lyricist, Costas Ferris. The music that Vangelis was creating for 666 was much more psychedelic and progressive rock oriented than anything the band had done before.
The 1972 album "666" was generally agreed to be the best, but it proved to be the last, though the single "Break" was also a hit in Europe. The double album "666" finally was released in June 1972, and having sold over 20 million albums .

"666" is one of the most significant albums of Progressive Rock ever .
Though it was a big one, the group became little more than a trivia answer after keyboardist Vangelis Papathanassiou dropped his surname and hit number one with the theme to "Chariots of Fire" in 1981.

The song "YOU" was not a love song , as the most songs of the 70's , but was a complette
shit song about Love . ( Years before the Punk lyrics )
