Various Acid Dreams Testament (2009 UK 28-track digitally remastered CD album; originally released in 1979 as a limited edition privately pressed vinyl LP, this was one of the first collections of obscure garage and psychedelic 45s released in the US in the mid-late 60s - now expanded to offer '75 minutes of psychotic terror' [!!], with improved sound quality and a booklet featuring band bios, discographies

and rare photos, We're not entirely sure if "terror" is the right way to describe this music -- but the striking subtitle definitely hints at the work within -- a pretty freaky batch of tunes from the late 60s American underground! The music's psyche, but with a garagey undercurrent too -- a great blend that almost borders on madness at times -- of the sort that we love in the best music of Love, and which we really enjoy here in the collection's host of contemporary groups who hit a very similar style! 
                       

This legendary compilation of 1960s American psychedelic punk was one of the very first albums of it's sort ever assembled. Featuring numerous legendary 45s, (including the absolutely stellar and berserk 1967 Laurie single by Balloon Farm "Question of Temperature," the Swamp Rats' basement-fuzz version of "Louie Louie," and the pre-Pentagram outfit Macabre with the truly sinister "Be

Forewarned") as well as some utter obscurities, it is presented here with remastered sound, making it a genuinely essential addition to any self-respecting garage connoisseur's collection.
