Buffalo Springfield : Buffalo Springfield 1966

Buffalo Springfield was an North-American rock group that served as a springboard for the careers of Neil Young, Stephen Stills, Richie Furay and Jim Messina .
The band's formation was in April 1966 and they released a total of three albums .



The first Buffalo Springfield single, “Nowadays Clancy Can’t Even Sing”, was released in August but made little impact outside of Los Angeles, where it reached the Top 25.
The album, eponymously titled Buffalo Springfield, was originally released by Atlantic’s subsidiary Atco in mono and in stereo in December 1966.



In November 1966 Stills composed his landmark song, "For What It's Worth", after witnessing police actions against the crowds of young people who had gathered on the Sunset Strip to protest the closing of a nightclub called Pandora's Box. The song was performed on Halloween night at the Whisky a Go Go, recorded within the next few days, and on the air in Los Angeles on radio station KHJ soon after. By March 1967 it was a Top Ten hit.

In April 1968, after yet another drug bust involving Young, Furay, Messina and Eric Clapton, the group decided to break up.

Dirty Fuse : Lost Riders 2009 - 2010

Dirty Fuse is a Surf Rock'n 'Roll band formed in 2008 by Duda Victor ( A Brasilian Lead Guitarist ) , member of the Brasilian Surf band ( Bufalos d' Agua ) and Christos Kogios ( Drums ) .

Their music is ifluenced by " Dick Dale " and " The Ventures " and explores different sounds , between Surf - Garage and Punk . All their songs are instrumental .

In the midle of 2010 , the new members of the band are :

Οι Dirty Fuse σχηματίστηκαν στα μέσα του 2008 από τον κιθαρίστα Duda Victor (Bufalos d'Agua) και τον ντράμερ Χρήστο Κόγιο , με σκοπό να εξερευνήσουν τον μανιασμένο κόσμο της Surf , Rock `n` Roll και Garage .

Με βασικούς συνθέτες τους Duda Victor και Κώστα Φ. (μπασο).

Η μουσική τους "πατάει" στις γερές βάσεις των " Dick Dale " , " Ventures " και ξεδιπλώνει τις Garage ανησυχίες της. Οι τρεις τους ξεκινούν την περιπλάνηση στα Live bar της Αθήνας.

Μετά από πολλές αλλαγές στη σύνθεση τους αλλά πάντα σαν τρίο (μπάσο ,κιθάρα, ντραμς) ηχογραφούνε στα μέσα του 2009 τέσσερα κομμάτια (lost riders, look around, perfect device και vu) με τον Παναγιώτη Κοτσιόπουλο στο μπάσο .

Μέσα στο 2010 η μπάντα μεγαλώνει και σ` αυτήν προστίθενται οι :

This folk-rock band was originally based in Montreal, Canada, though during the second phase of its career Courage Of Lassie moved to Toronto. Formed in 1986, the band comprises core members Ron Nelson (vocals), Mady Schenkel (b. Switzerland; vocals/multi-instrumentalist), Rachel Melas (bass/percussion) and Rob Booth (violin/accordion). More recently they have been joined by Andy Fraffiti (drums) and Chiyoko Szlavnics (saxophone/flute). Nelson and Schenkel had first begun to collaborate together on potential film soundtracks while in league with the Vancouver art punk scene. Later they relocated to Montreal and formed Courage Of Lassie. Singing in both French and English, they quickly earned their live reputation via their residencies at the Queen West music bar, Cameron House, proffering a compelling mix of ragged folk, rock and pop covers and originals. Two independently released albums ensured a loyal cult following throughout Canada and in parts of Europe. As they commented retrospectively: "Temptation was like a water-colour sketch of what we would become once we started working in good studios with good instruments. Sing Or Die was our first album in a big studio." It was on the latter that comparisons between Nelson's vocals and Leonard Cohen became prevalent, though two songs on their debut had already been dedicated to Montreal's most famous musical son. Then the group vanished as quickly as they had appeared, bar a 1992 tour of Canada. The silence was finally broken in 1994 when, after signing the first ever Anglo-Canadian deal with the UK's Beggars Banquet Records, Courage Of Lassie regrouped to release This Side Of Heaven. Specially premiered back at the Cameron Club, its recording saw guest appearances from a slew of local characters who had also grown up at that venue (Molly Johnson, Bob Wiseman, Al Cross). Critical reaction was again strong, with diverse music publications celebrating its arrival as a significant landmark in contemporary Canadian music.

The Gruesomes : Jack The Ripper "7" 45 rpm Vinyl 1985

The Gruesomes are a Canadian Garage Punk band formed in 1985 from Montreal, Quebec, Canada.



Taking their name from the scary neighbours on TV's Cartoon " The Flintstones " ,



the Gruesomes recorded their debut LP for Og Records, a Montreal independent music label.



The result was 1986's Tyrants of Teen Trash, a collection of primitive teen anthems that sold phenomenally in both Europe and North America and dominated the number one position on alternative playlists across the country.


The band's follow-up releases on Og, 1987's Gruesomania and 1988's Hey! were also chart toppers and established the band as one of Canada's biggest selling underground acts.

In 1987, Ottawa's John Knoll replaced Eric on drums, taking away from the punk sound that the band originally had, and leaning more to the early r'n'b sound that they acquired.

Always taking an irreverent approach to music, the Gruesomes were known for their humor and goofy stage antics. Their famous Halloween shows were schlocky tributes to horror themes, incorporating campy props such as coffins and Dracula capes.


In Late 1999 The Gruesomes reformed and recorded possibly their best effort to date "Cave-In!". The 14 track album was released on CD in Canada and on 12" vinyl in Germany. A tour to support "Cave-In!" brought the band to Europe for the first time.
Gigs in Germany, Switzerland, Belgium and Italy gave European fans their first glimpse of The Tyrants of Teen Trash (by this point only in their mid-30's). The Gruesomes continued to gig in Canada and The USA (including some very memorable performances at Cave-Stomp in NYC) and still perform occasionally.

Stomu Yamashta (born Yamashita Tsutomu , 15 March 1947 , Kyoto , Japan) is a Japanese percussionist , keyboardist and composer.
He was the leader of the supergroup " Go " with Steve Winwood , Al Di Meola , Klaus Schulze , and Michael Shrieve.
Go (1976) is the first album by Stomu Yamashta's Progressive fusion supergroup "Go".

Japan : Oil On Canvas 1983

Japan were a British New Wave group, formed in 1974 in Catford, South London. The band achieved success in the late 1970s/early 1980s, when they were often associated with the burgeoning New Romantic fashion movement.




The band debuted on record with the 1978 album " Adolescent Sex " and followed up with " Obscure Alternatives " . Both albums sold well in Japan (where the band's name helped them to gain a devoted cult following) and the Netherlands , where the single "Adolescent Sex" was a Top 30 hit . They also gained some popularity in Canada.
However in their native UK those albums were largely ignored.




Oil on Canvas is a live album released in 1983 by Virgin Records. Although it is a live recording of their established material, the album also contains three new studio tracks ("Oil on Canvas", "Voices Raised in Welcome, Hands Held in Prayer" and "Temple of Dawn"), recorded separately by Sylvian, Sylvian/Jansen and Barbieri respectively. (The name of Barbieri's track is taken from the novel The Temple of Dawn by the acclaimed Japanese novelist Yukio Mishima.)



Although the album was released some months following the band's much publicised split in late 1982, it was ironically Japan's highest charting album in the UK (where it reached #5). The album was certified "Gold" by the BPI in 1988 for 100,000 copies sold.

Lime Spiders were an Australian post-punk unit resurrecting the trashier elements of '60s garage and psychedelic rock with willful abandon. Vocalist Mick Blood formed the band in the early '80s with guitarist Gerald Corben, bassist Tony Bambach and drummer Ricky Lawson. The band recorded two singles during 1983 (released on the Slave Girl EP two years later) and signed to Virgin Records. Lime Spiders' first album was the excellent The Cave Comes Alive!, but the following year's Volatile was a bit of disappointment, veering closer to stultifying hard rock. The group broke up after 1990's Beethoven's Fist.
